Time is short so check your schedules to be sure you are on track to deliver those final speeches for your CC/AC goals; or you are on the roster to complete those meeting assignments needed to complete your CL award. Once you have accomplished those goals be sure to submit your award applications to TI so you will get the credit you so richly deserve. District 38 is already a two time Distinguished District and we are working hard to make it three in a row. We do that by serving our members and helping them to achieve their goals.
When you succeed we all succeed! What do you need? How can we help? If there is anything your District Leadership can do to help you reach your goals just send any one of us an email.

Dave Robbie is one of those rare individuals that quietly does extraordinary things simply because they need to be done. Dave is an engineer with Lockheed Martin and member of the His Toastmasters Voice club which, although an open club, is hosted by Lockheed Martin. For each of the last several years Lockheed has supported a nationwide speech competition for high school students which is conducted by the National Management Association. Since running speech competitions is nothing new for Toastmaster Robbie, he volunteered - for each of those several years - to serve as contest master. Last year Dave invited me to be a judge and I can honestly say I was blown away by the quality of the speeches. What impressed the students though was how well the contest was run. That was truly a credit to Dave’s ability to introduce Toastmasters precision in a way that wasn’t just understood by the students but rather embraced by them. I was sorry to miss the contest this year and thank District Treasurer Jo Stante for supporting Dave and filling my seat. I’m sure Jo would echo my sentiments; I just hope I get my seat back next year. That’s a hint Dave. |

When Chester County (CCTM) club president Annmarie Kelly came back from the International Convention last August, she didn’t come back empty handed. Annmarie brought back a shiny new DVD with the first, second and third place speeches and it didn’t take long before she came up with the idea of CCTM Movie Night. Unfortunately, life has a way of derailing plans and movie night ended up being delayed until March. The delay did not diminish its success. Annmarie and her spouse hosted the first event which boasted a covered dish dinner shared by an impressive 21 Toastmasters and guests. The next twist was making the leap from spectators to movie critics. The group was provided with International Speech Contest Evaluation forms and everyone was invited to do their own evaluations. The reviews are in and Movie Night was a huge success with everyone finding at least one way to ramp up their speaking skills. |

Complete and accurate profiles ensure that we can effectively communicate with our membership. While a current and correct email address has always been a key piece of information it is about to take on an increased significance. Toastmasters International will be moving to a new single signon process based on your email address so this would be a good time to review your profile and make any necessary updates. You can access your profile from the TI Login Page. If you haven't changed your Login ID it's your member number which can be found on any issue of Toastmaster magazine. |
